Legally who owns the listing?

My seller signed a listing with me. He claims that legally the listing belongs to him and not to my broker. I want to as the community for their opinion.

Legally, the broker owns the listing since the seller signed on giving the listing to the brokerage.

There is a big debate on that issue. But legally the brokerage firm owns the listing.
